Rough Sail

I had some PTO to burn, so I took two days off while the kids were on spring break. Today, it seemed decent enough around noon that we decided to go sailing. The wind was out of the North at about 10 knots. This is generally not the best wind direction to sail in on the Great Salt Lake. There is a lot of fetch coming from the north, so the waves can really build. The water is also really dense, so the waves end up being steep and have a short period between them.
We rolled around a lot, but we got the headsail up and sailed for about an hour an a half. We did about 3 miles just going back and forth. The kids seemed to have fun, but it for sure wasn't the best day of sailing.
