Sailing and a swim
We had a great sail today out on the Great Salt Lake. We brought along Evelyn , Ian, and his girlfriend Katie. Nikki and I had some stuff going on in the morning, so we headed out later than we normally go. The wind was supposed to be really high, coming out of the north, which worried me a bit. I figured we would just get out there and see.
The spiders are not out yet, so it makes sailing a lot less work to get things washed down. The boat was in really good shape and looked amazing. We got there a little early to get everything ready to go. Evelyn was really excited to go out. It was Katies first time, and our first time out with 4 adult onboard. It worked out really well though, though I think it killed our speed a bit.

Out for a sail on the great salt lake.
The kids hung out down below for the most part, sometimes they would pop up to have a look around or to get something to eat.
The wind turned out pretty good, even though it was supposed to be 12 knots out of the north it was closer to 8. The wind had also shifted from the west right before it picked up so the waves were pretty much non existent. We sailed for like two hours and then anchored and let the kids and Ian go for a swim. It was still a bit to cold for my preferences swimming wise.

Swimming and relaxing on the boat.
The kids all swam for about an hour and then rinsed off and we raised the sails again and headed home. It was a good sail home as well. We were a bit head to wind, so we had to do a bit of tacking to get there, but it was good practice. Evelyn was exhausted by the time we got back, and ready for a nap for sure.
