Finally back out on the boat

Finally back out on the boat

It's been a while since we have been out on the boat, not as long as since the last post, we have been sailing since then, but we just didn't make it out a ton this winter like we hoped.

Today though we made it out. The wind was supposed to be good today as we checked all week. Not high wind, but enough to sail. Then yesterday the forecast, from 6 knots to 2knots.

We decided to go out anyways. It is in the 70s out, and sunny, so we decided to make the best of it. I also needed to unclog the drains of the cockpit floor. Nikki was out the other week to check things, and they were gummed up enough she couldn't make any headway. It took about 45 minutes with our shop-vac and a drier lint brush, but I got them unclogged.

The water was on on the dock already which was nice, we got to wash down our very dirty decks. We also had a few birds nests in the sail bags that we knocked out and sprayed down.

The water was really calm, which could be expected with no wind. We did have a little though, enough to push us along at about 1.6 knots. Not fast, but it was moving.

Despite the water being 50 degrees, warren decided to go for a swim. He said it was cold, but still swam for about 20 minutes. Then his scrape on his stomachs scab softened enough to let the salt water in, so he flew out of the water because it hurt.

It was a pretty good day of sailing, real relaxing and always nice to get out. Warren took us in to the dock which was a lot of fun for him, he did great at it though. He even got to show off for the tour boat as we came into the channel.
