Upcoming Math Test
This evening I worked with Mark on his math review. I think it just makes me like the teacher less. The review is far more complicated than the assignment and the questions add complexity that isn't needed to demonstrate that they know what was tought.
As an example there was a question that you needed to convert a point slope formula equation into a y-intercept equation. That's a valid problem. for some reason the teacher instead added a slope to the equation that made the math all not work out easily. So there were 7 additional steps to solve everything. This would have been fine on a 15 question review, but the review was 30 or so questions.
Additionally the teacher didn't bother sending it home for students to work on over the weekend, and instead decided to hand it out the day before the test. No time to study up on what skills are lacking, no time to ask questions. It's doesn't feel like the teacher wants to set up the students for success.
