More More Boat Projects
Today was a full day of boat projects. I started out by sanding things down a bit and repainting. There was a lot of sports to cover up. Like a lot.... Then I repainted and pulled the tape. It came out pretty decently.
I sanded down the overfilled epoxy from the winches and then drilled new oversize holes for the new winches. Then I taped over the back and filled the holes with epoxy.
After that I moved on to two new rails for the crib boards to sit in. Mine were never in great shape, and they broke right before we pulled the boat out of the water. I bought two 3 foot 1 inch by 2 1/2 inch starboard pieces a few weeks ago. I used my router table and first rounded over the tops of the boards. Then I took a groove bit and bit by but cut back a slit in both 1/2 inch deep. I pulled the old boards off and cut them to length. They came out really good. Here is a picture of the test fit. It's not fully screwed down yet. I drilled new holes and epoxied them all so I can sand them down tomorrow
