Fiddler on The Roof
This evening my Mom and Mark took us to see Fiddler on the Roof at Hale Center Theater. This was part of our Christmas present, and one I really enjoyed. The kids stayed over at Nikki's parents. The play wasn't until 7:30, so we just had them spend the night over there. They picked up the dog on the way back from Warren's swim classes, so we were dogless for the night as well.
We ate at an Asian Bistro chain called Zao. I had a bowl with noodles and steak. It was pretty good, not something I will rush out for again, but I would consider it if we were in the area looking for something to eat.
After that, we headed down to Salt Lake to Hale Theater. We have seen a couple of plays there and I have always thought they did a decent job. Nikki had a conference there and got a backstage tour of the main theater. They have a stage that has different lowering platforms, and things come down through a hole in the ceiling, it is really neat to see how they use everything.
The play was absolutely amazing. The actors did such an amazing job, and the production value was top-notch. During a dream scene, they had two main actors floating in the air on the bed, and props and people were flying through the air. It was by far my favorite scene in the play. I was just so impressed with every piece of it.
I haven't been to a ton of plays, but this was my favorite. Of course, I love the kid's productions more, but I love those for different reasons.
